Let us protect and conserve our natural resources

Natural resources are the raw materials, such as plants, water, soil, rocks etc. these resources are used by humans or other living species, to meet their needs. It is our duty to protect and enhance our environment. My community named Pétion-Ville it is mostly mountainous and it was very well known for its beauty and freshness because it was green throughout its extent.
Pétion-Ville
But nowadays due to anthropogenic factors it becomes increasingly warm. If simply, we continue to clear cutting without replanting that will increases those significant issues in the years to come, such as erosion, drought, heat effect, declining economy and the community will become vulnerable, sensitive and exposed to natural disasters and what is worse it can turn against the lives of people living in the community.

To avoid this sad situation we must build our houses a correct way. Do not cut or remove trees in bad conditions especially, near the aquifers or sources of water, mountains and ravines.
In place of turning forests into crops and other vegetable gardens, we can encourage agroforestry, which means, the gardens can still there but underneath the forest cover or surround by trees. As an example coffee growing under trees in other words, shade coffee, are better and have a very good taste than those who grow entirely exposed to the sun. The use of the compost is better than some fertilizer which can cause water pollution. Compost reduces the organic trash, and does not require money, and the use of herbicides and pesticides should be under control. Based on my opinion, “Natural resources are the beauty and education is all the necessary tools to maintain this beauty and even improve it”. Education on the protection and conservation of natural resources must be taught through church, school and family.

Because coal is still considered as a primary source of fuel for some people in my community, my project aims also to teach people about making briquettes from Waste, newspaper and bock corn, slash, etc. so we can reduce our current challenges and avoid other similar issues.
